About USM

Started by a college student-photojournalist, University Street Meet seeks to offer a students perspective to the world of fashion. When people take the effort to dress well, they deserve to be captured and shared.

All walks of fashion are seen on our campus in Seattle and the surrounding neighborhoods, and this Web site does not limit itself to just one style or even one demographic. Instead, it’s our goal to show that the students, professors and residents of this particular area of the city have their finger on the pulse of current trends — and are also creating new ones.

Street Meet wants to understand why people are wearing what they are, where their inspiration comes from and how our readers can seek to emulate and adapt the styles they see every day.

Inspiration for this blog comes from Web sites such as The Sartorialist, Gade Mode, Vice Magazine’s Dos and Donts, The Style Scout and Pike/Pine among others. When we find a style on the streets, we’ll try to link it to similar vogues around the globe. We’re not copycats, and we want to offer something fresh. Give me feedback, and tell me what works (and what doesn’t).
